Need to Do a "No Buy"

Hey Girls,

I have gone cosmetics crazy!  I love me some makeup.  Unfortunately, my wallet is paying the price for my cosmetic addiction.  I really need to take a break and use up the products I have.  I just can't seem to tear myself away from makeup... or jewelry... or clothes or books or .... the list goes on.

Anyway, I promised myself I wouldn't buy any makeup in January, and I just purchased a new blush palette. Ahhh!!!  I couldn't help it.  It was on sale.  I wanted it.  The reviews were great.

I have to learn to resist temptation.  Any tips on how to put a cosmetic addiction on hold in order to protect your bottom line?

Talk Soon,

  1. Haven't got any tips unfortunately :( Good luck though!

I've just nominated you for a Versatile Blogger Award if you'd like to have a look :)

  2. Ahhh I feel for you babe, that is exactly one of the reasons I've decided to take a little break from blogging, it's necessary for me, I think a lot of times, well at least in my case, I purely bought something to blog about it, well obviously I wanted it, but the fact that I wanted to blog too swayed my decision to buy. Good Luck, hope you find your happy balance :-) x

    1. I understand. When there are new products out there, I do want to grab them to try for myself and to post on my blog. I think I will do more non-makeup posts and posts about products I already have during the no-buy. Good luck with your blogging break :)

  3. I can relate.
It can get difficult to resist sometimes.
You can try to stay away from situations that will result in you shopping.
If Im online and I see a sale, I distract myself by watching Netflix instead.
If Im at a mall, I try to go with a friend who I can trust with my card so that she can stop me from splurging.
    Good luck!

  4. i've always wanted to try a no buy, but it's so difficult! i get so many emails about sales, that at this point i delete them without opening them. that way i'm not tempted! good luck!

  5. I do know what u mean, I think I need to do the same too but the offers instore / online, blog reviews, magazine recommends, and word of mouth all tempt me! If you do find any methods that do happen to work, please share x
